A stunning Partnership

Close collaboration with interior design Smith Madden, delivers a bold statement for this global consultancy.

Evans & Peck is an international consulting company that provides project and business advisory services to the infrastructure and resources sectors. Smith Madden commissioned Focus to provide a complete fitout for their Brisbane office. This included a 90% demolition of their existing premises, services coordination, project management and construction of the highly bespoke design.

Focus expertly interpreted Smith Madden’s design intent which incorporated visual references to city-based infrastructure. The bold design called for exceptional attention to detail. Specialist finishes included a rusted surface on a studded MDF wall, overhead metal grating, angled sliding glass doors and pebble flooring.

To deliver this extraordinary design in just 10 weeks, Focus worked with the design team to align all elements of the project. Focus was in charge of construction program, team assemblage and quality control and they were also responsible for coordinating access to the site during the tight program.

Their delivery strategy ensured that the many challenges of this project did not impact on the agreed timing and project budget – a strategy that made the designer very happy.

Aspects of the Evans & Peck fitout had the potential to cause delays in the tight schedule. The unique design elements needed careful consideration, and the flooring required the majority of the site to be closed for almost a week. Despite these challenges, Focus’ ability to work hand-in-hand with all involved resulted in a remarkable outcome.

Focus constantly monitored progress, keeping Smith Madden and Evans & Peck up to date at every stage of the project. Their close communication, reporting and follow-up ensured everyone remained informed, confident and connected.
